=About the site=

What is that little symbol you see around my site? It's the symbol upon my characters forehead, the brown-colored shape of a trilobite or horseshoe crab. I use it as a sign of the most recent update or newest art submissions here at Dream Weaver.

What is anthro? The word "anthro" is short for anthropomorphic. In relation to my site, it is "an animal with human characteristics, behaviors, or ideas."

When was the website created? Apr 28, 2005

Why was the website created? To house my growing number of anthro art and act as a portfolio. I needed a place specifically for my anthro art because it seemed to be a main theme in my artwork, so I chose to take my art to where an anthro audience would be. 

=About the Tig=

My nickname is "Tigris", and I'm from the USA. I have been an out-of-work art student for 3 years. Animals, I believe, are somewhat spiritual, and have a direct relationship with the Earth (which humans, who separate themselves from it, seem to have forgotten).  The character I use to represent myself is called a tabby "Carachilynxter" (kar-rah-keel-links-star), a combination of caracal ears, cheetah tail, lynx face fur, and tiger face/body structure and stripes. I do not see myself as this animal, it's only for role-playing games or imagination purposes. I am not a furrie, nor do I live the lifestyle, I'm just an artist who is fascinated by the genre. Why a charachilynxter? Because I wanted to be different and have something completely my own, and become one of the creations I frequently draw. :)

=About the art=

Creature-creating is one of my favorite art subjects, combining the realistic with the surrealistic. Also when I learn something historic that is interesting, I usually want to make a drawing with that subject as the focus. Animals give weigh to experimentation, like being a scientist without the potions I'm able to dream up a living creature of my own invention, and like a paleontologist I am able to decipher its diet and habits and give it a purpose. Then I usually take it one step further by making it evolve into a quadruped who uses human speech to say what it thinks and feels which deepens the meaning behind the character.

Gift Art: I'm not giving at this time. Though, I am ALWAYS open to accepting gift art :)

Art Trade: send me an email with a character description, a picture (preferably a full-body one to give me the basic idea), what you would like the character to be doing, and provide a link to your website/art gallery (if you want the link to be on my "trades" page).

Commission:  Email me and we'll work something out concerning the price. I usually work on an average 9x11 computer paper for pencil and pen, 9x11 ivory parchment paper for charcoals, and 18x12 textured heavyweight drawing paper for paint. A list of media I can use for finished pieces are..

I do not do con-badges, normally, but I suppose I could try. My one rule is no nudity or sexy poses (anything that could pass for "smut"). Gore and violence is fine, I don't mind blood, guts, and gore. I have the right to turn down a commission if I personally find it disturbing or it's far beyond my range (I will let you know). That about covers it. I can guesstimate that my price range would be approximately $10-$70 US, but naturally it depends upon the size, subject, and use of media. Also I do not build or buy my own frames or mattes, so that must be done yourself.
